Uttar Pradesh to Host Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 in Lucknow
India’s artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem, IndiaAI, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), and the Government of Uttar Pradesh are set to host the Uttar Pradesh Regional AI Impact Conference 2026 in Lucknow on 12-13 January 2026. Announced by PIB Delhi on 11 January 2026, the conference aims to promote responsible, inclusive and scalable AI adoption across Indian states while showcasing Uttar Pradesh’s growing leadership in AI-driven governance and public service delivery. Importantly, the event serves as an official precursor to the IndiaAI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled in New Delhi from 16-20 February 2026.
The Lucknow conference is part of a national series of eight Regional AI Impact Conferences being organised under the IndiaAI framework. These regional events are designed to align state-level AI initiatives with the broader goals of the IndiaAI Mission, ensuring that AI development in India remains safe, trustworthy and citizen-centric.
The Uttar Pradesh edition highlights the state’s progress in digital governance, healthcare innovation and technology-led public service delivery, positioning it as a model for other states to follow.
The conference has been designed with multiple interlinked objectives.
Over two days, the conference will feature plenary sessions and thematic discussions covering a wide range of priority areas. These include the global AI landscape, state-level readiness for AI adoption, and frameworks for capacity building within government systems.
A major thematic focus is AI in healthcare, with sessions examining AI-driven healthcare delivery, digital public infrastructure for health, AI-enabled diagnostics, and clinical innovation. These discussions are particularly relevant for India’s efforts to improve healthcare access, affordability and quality through technology.
In addition, the conference will explore AI for economic growth and social good, highlighting how emerging technologies can boost productivity, support startups, and create employment opportunities while addressing social challenges.
Beyond policy discussions, the Lucknow conference places strong emphasis on real-world implementation. Startup showcases, hackathon outcomes and industry led demonstrations will illustrate how AI solutions are already being deployed in governance and public services.
This approach bridges the gap between policy intent and on-ground impact, a key requirement for effective AI adoption at scale.
