On the occasion of Uttarakhand’s Silver Jubilee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in grand celebrations held at the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, and unveiled development projects worth over ₹8,000 crore. The day also marks Uttarakhand Foundation Day, celebrating 25 years since the state’s formation in 2000.
The Prime Minister’s visit reflected the central government’s commitment to accelerating the state’s development under the “double-engine” governance model, a term frequently used for Centre-State synergy under BJP-led governments.
PM Modi launched and laid the foundation stones for a host of projects cutting across critical sectors, including,
This multi-sectoral development package is expected to boost employment, improve living standards, and strengthen service delivery in remote and hilly regions.
A major highlight was the release of over ₹62 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY).
