On the occasion of Uttarakhand’s Silver Jubilee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in grand celebrations held at the Forest Research Institute, Dehradun, and unveiled development projects worth over ₹8,000 crore. The day also marks Uttarakhand Foundation Day, celebrating 25 years since the state’s formation in 2000.
The Prime Minister’s visit reflected the central government’s commitment to accelerating the state’s development under the “double-engine” governance model, a term frequently used for Centre-State synergy under BJP-led governments.

A major highlight was the release of over ₹62 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). The financial aid was directly transferred into the bank accounts of more than 28,000 farmers in Uttarakhand, reaffirming the government’s focus on ensuring timely and transparent delivery of farm subsidies and insurance claims.
PMFBY provides insurance coverage to farmers against crop loss due to natural calamities, pests, or diseases.
To mark the 25-year milestone, PM Modi also released a commemorative postage stamp, celebrating Uttarakhand’s unique identity and progress.
He later visited an exhibition showcasing local innovations and development models, where he interacted with stakeholders from across the state—signalling the importance of grassroots participation in nation-building.
