Vaibhav Sooryavanshi Becomes Youngest Player to Score a T20I Fifty
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has become the youngest batter to make a fifty in T20 International cricket. During the first T20I match against Zimbabwe in Harare on 23rd July 2026, the 15-year-old batter accomplished his milestone in 19 balls. His incredible performance shows that he can perform at the International level against some of the best teams in the world.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi broke the record while being just 15 years and 118 days old.
The left-handed batsman was playing his fourth match with senior India, but he showed no fear while facing Zimbabwe’s bowling.
His innings consisted of four fours and four sixes, coming at a very good strike rate of 263-plus.
Although he was out shortly after reaching the half-century mark, he remains in the record books.
The record was previously held by Louis Bruce of Gibraltar, who, at the age of 16 years and 56 days, scored 60 runs against Malta in August 2021.
Sooryavanshi has broken this record over 300 days sooner, creating a new world record for teenage achievement in T20 Internationals.
