Veteran Bollywood Actress Madhu Malhotra Dies at 71

Veteran Bollywood actress Madhu Malhotra is passed away on March 13 2026. She was passed away at the age of 71 years. She was known for her roles in classic Hindi films like Satte Pe Satta and Hero. According to reports coming the actress died in Mumbai.  Madhu Malhotra was a familiar face in Bollywood during the 1980s and 1990s appearing in more than 100 films.

Who Was Madhu Malhotra? Early Life and Bollywood Career

Madhu Malhotra was a popular supporting actress in Hindi cinema particularly during the late 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s.

She has became known for playing important supporting characters in several successful Bollywood films.

Her journey in the industry of cinema began with the horror film Andhera (1975) and it is directed by the Ramsay Brothers.

She gained the wider recognition after appearing in The Great Gambler (1979) directed by Shakti Samanta.

In that film she has played the sister of Amitabh Bachchan’s character and which helped her gain visibility in mainstream Bollywood cinema.

Madhu Malhotra Role in ‘Hero’

One of the most memorable appearance of Madhu Malhotra was in the 1983 blockbuster Hero which is directed by Subhash Ghai.

This film was starred Jackie Shroff and Meenakshi Seshadri and it became one of the biggest hits of the decade.

Madhu Malhotra was appeared in the emotional song ‘Lambi Judaai’ sung by Reshma.

This song which became one of the most memorable sequences of the film.

This song gained massive popularity and remains one of the classic tracks associated with the film.

Madhu Malhotra’s Role in ‘Satte Pe Satta’

Another important film of Madhu Malhotra’s career was the 1982 comedy drama Satte Pe Satta which featured Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini in the lead roles.

In the film Madhu Malhotra played the love interest of Budh, a character portrayed by Paintal.

Her presence in the film’s song ‘Mausam Mastana’ became one of the memorable moments of the movie.
