Vigilance Awareness Week 2026: Theme, Dates and Key Initiatives

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is observing Vigilance Awareness Week 2026 between October 26 and November 1 under the slogan “Probity for Prosperity” (सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि). What Is Vigilance Awareness Week?

Vigilance Awareness Week is an annual event that takes place under the aegis of the CVC and aims at ethical conduct, transparency and the prevention of corruption in public administration.

It is held in the first week of October, which coincides with the birthday of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who laid importance on integrity and public service. In 2026, Vigilance Awareness Week will be observed between October 26 and November 1.

Theme of Vigilance Awareness Week 2026

Theme of the week is,

  • “Probity for Prosperity” and सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि

The theme draws attention to the link between ethics and sustainable prosperity. Probity refers to integrity and ethical standards of conduct, especially while working with public office.

This observance aims to ensure that organisations increase transparency in decision-making, create robust accountability measures, and create an environment where corruption is prevented, not corrected.

Activities during Vigilance Awareness Week

The guidelines provided by the CVC suggest that organizations must conduct some useful activities relevant to their operations and stakeholders, which are as follows,

  • Awareness amongst employees: Conducting workshops, sensitization programs, debate and quiz contests about integrity and ways to prevent corruption.
  • Awareness amongst public: Organizing walkathons, marathons, skits and other campaigns at the community level.
  • Digital awareness: Social media campaigns and awareness via other digital media such as bulk SMS, email and others.
  • Stakeholder participation: Sharing the Integrity Pledge with vendors, suppliers, contractors, students and citizenry.
  • Grievance redressal: Conducting the several camps and vendor meetings where required.
  • Gram Sabhas for awareness: Community level awareness meetings regarding anti-corruption measures and ways to file complaints.
