Viksit Bharat Strategy Room Inaugurated at LBSNAA

In a significant step toward strengthening data-driven governance and evidence-based policymaking, NITI Aayog in collaboration with the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie, inaugurated the Viksit Bharat Strategy Room (VBSR) and announced the winners of the Use Case Challenge Awards under the NITI for States initiative.

About The Viksit Bharat Strategy Room (VBSR)

  • The Viksit Bharat Strategy Room (VBSR) at LBSNAA has been established as a dynamic governance hub designed to foster analytical thinking, innovation, and data-based decision-making among India’s future administrators.
  • The initiative is an extension of NITI Aayog’s central Strategy Room, which integrates data from multiple development sectors for real-time monitoring, planning, and decision support.

By embedding this model within LBSNAA, the country’s premier civil service training institute, the Strategy Room aims to,

  • Expose officer trainees to the practical application of evidence-based policymaking.
  • Promote data literacy and analytics in governance.
  • Instil a culture of innovation and accountability in public administration.

The Use Case Challenge

  • The event also recognized winners of the NITI for States Use Case Challenge, a unique initiative launched to encourage district administrations to apply data intelligence for solving local governance challenges.
  • Held between December 2024 and February 2025, the Challenge invited District Magistrates and Collectors from Aspirational Districts and Blocks to identify key local issues, analyze them using data and evidence, and design replicable interventions with measurable outcomes.
