Virat Kohli Tops Celebrity Brand Valuation In 2023
Cricketer Virat Kohli has reclaimed the top spot to become India’s most valued celebrity, boasting a brand value of $227.9 million in 2023. However, this value still falls short of his peak brand value of $237.7 million in 2020, as reported by Kroll’s Celebrity Brand Valuation Report 2023.
Cricketer Virat Kohli has reclaimed the number one spot with a brand value of $227.9 million, pushing Bollywood star Ranveer Singh to second place at $203.1 million, as per Kroll’s latest celebrity brand valuation study titled ‘Brands, Business, Bollywood’.
The combined brand value of the top 25 Indian celebrities reached $1.9 billion in 2023, marking an 18 per cent increase from the previous year, the report showed. Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has claimed the third position with a brand value of $120.7 million, due to the success of three blockbuster hits in 2023, marking his comeback among India’s top five celebrity endorsers since 2020.
Kohli’s overall brand value saw a substantial increase of nearly 29 percent, rising from $176.9 million in 2022. This surge enabled him to surpass actor Ranveer Singh, who slipped to the second position with a brand value of $203.1 million, according to the report by consultancy firm Kroll.
The report highlights a 14.2% increase in brand endorsements among the top 20 celebrities. Kohli leads with $227.9 million, followed by Ranveer Singh at $203.1 million, Shah Rukh Khan at $120.7 million, Akshay Kumar at $111.7 million, and Alia Bhatt at $101.1 million.
