What is the Banke Bihari Corridor?

The Banke Bihari Corridor is a major infrastructure and pilgrimage development project being implemented in Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh, around the famous Banke Bihari Temple, one of the most revered shrines dedicated to Lord Krishna.

Purpose of the Corridor

The primary aim of the Banke Bihari Corridor is to:

  • Ease congestion around the temple area.
  • Improve devotee movement and safety, especially during peak festivals like Janmashtami and Holi.
  • Enhance the overall pilgrimage experience by creating a better-managed and aesthetically pleasing space.
  • Strengthen emergency access for medical and security services.

  • Width & Layout: The corridor is proposed to be 7 meters wide, allowing the smooth flow of pilgrims and processions.
  • Total Area: The development will cover around 5.5 acres surrounding the temple.
  • Design: The project is being designed in a way that complements the heritage architecture of Vrindavan and the spiritual significance of the site.
