Ludhiana district has the highest population density in Punjab. According to the 2011 census, there were about 978 people living in every square kilometer of the district, meaning each small area of land had many residents.

Ludhiana is the largest and most important industrial city in Punjab. Many people move here for jobs, business opportunities and a better lifestyle. The district’s strong economy, factories and educational institutions attract a large number of people.
