Ludhiana district has the highest population density in Punjab. As of 2011, the population density of Ludhiana was 978 people per square kilometers. This means that for every square kilometer of land, there were 978 residents.

Ludhiana is the largest and most important industrial city in Punjab. Many people move here for jobs, business opportunities and a better lifestyle. The district’s strong economy, factories and educational institutions attract a large number of people.
