It is one of the principal temples in Ayodhya, renowned for its architectural beauty. The temple houses three pairs of idols of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita, each representing different eras.

Historical Significance of Kanak Bhavan

According to tradition, Kanak Bhavan was a gift from Queen Kaikeyi to Sita after her marriage to Lord Rama. The temple underwent restoration during the medieval period by King Vikramaditya. Later, Queen Vrishbhanu Kunwari of Orchha also played a significant role in its reconstruction. Kanak Bhavan remains a significant pilgrimage site for visitors to Ayodhya.
