In Delhi, electricity is partly free for small users.

  • After 200 units:Rs.4.5 per unit
  • Up to 400 units: Government offers subsidy, bill stays under Rs.800
  • Above 400 units: No subsidy, Rs.6.5 per unit must be paid

Sikkim has the lowest electricity cost in India. People here pay only Rs.3.63 per unit, which is cheaper than in any other state. This helps families save money on their electricity bills. Because of this low rate, Sikkim is known as the state that provides the most affordable electricity in the country.

Known as India’s first planned city. Chandigarh offers fairly affordable electricity.

  • Electricity rate: Rs.4.15 per unit

Himachal Pradesh

In Himachal Pradesh, electricity is free up to a point.

  • Up to 125 units: free
  • After 125 units: Rs.4.17 per unit with subsidy
  • Above 300 units: Rs.5.22 per unit
