Over period of time it evolved into the World Creativity and Innovation Week (April 15-21) and it also culminating in the celebration on April 21.
In 2017 the United Nations General Assembly officially have recognized the day and linked it to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The inaugural recognition by UN celebrations were took place in 2018 and reinforced the role of creativity in achieving global goals.
