History of World MSME Day

World MSME Day was established by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) via the Resolution A/RES/71/279 on 6th of April 2017.

Since then, 27 June has been observed annually to recognize the contribution of the MSMEs for the sustainable development and global economic prosperity.

The observance has also aligns with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and it emphasizes the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in achieving inclusive growth.
