It aims to raise awareness about the importance of oral hygiene and to encourage preventive dental care worldwide.

This campaign focuses on to educating people about simple habits that can prevent oral diseases and improve overall well-being.

Each year the theme highlights different aspects of dental health.

The 2026 theme emphasizes that maintaining a healthy mouth contributes to a healthier and happier life.

Why Oral Health Matters Health

Oral health is not just about clean teeth or fresh breath but it also plays a critical role in overall body health and disease prevention.  Several harmful bacteria in the mouth can enter the bloodstream and they can affect major organs.
