Zou Jiayi Appointed as New AIIB President, Succeeds Jin Liqun
In a significant leadership transition, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has announced Zou Jiayi, former Vice Finance Minister of China, as its next President. She will take over from the founding President, Jin Liqun, whose second five-year term ends in January 2026. The announcement was made during the 10th Annual Meeting of the AIIB Board of Governors, marking a new chapter for the Beijing-headquartered multilateral bank.
Zou Jiayi has been appointed as the new President of the AIIB. The decision was announced on June 24, 2025, during the AIIB’s 10th Annual Governors’ Meeting. She will assume office on January 16, 2026.
