27th World Knowledge Forum Begins in Seoul
The 27th edition of the World Knowledge Forum (WKF) was held in Seoul, South Korea, starting on September 8, 2026, where political figures, business leaders, academics, and technology specialists convened to discuss global shifts. Sponsored by the Maekyung Media Group, the conference that lasts for three days will run till September 10. The focus of the current discussion includes artificial intelligence, collaboration between man and machine, as well as the future of the world economy. The World Knowledge Forum 2026 takes place at Jangchung Arena and The Shilla Seoul.

Theme of the 27th World Knowledge Forum is “The Promethean Moment: Architecting the Co-Intelligence Order.”
World Knowledge Forum is a series of annual international conferences taking place in South Korea and addressing issues relating to world affairs, finance, innovations, technologies and public policy.
One of the topics addressed at this year’s World Knowledge Forum is Artificial intelligence (AI). Its possible implications for national security, employment market and economic competition are being examined.
Co-intelligence concept assumes cooperation between a human being and intelligent machine. While artificial intelligence is normally viewed as automation of human activity, the discussions address ways of collaboration between people and intelligent computers to enhance performance.
Further social and economic implications of fast development of technologies are being discussed as well.
British Prime Minister David Cameron gave an opening address titled “A New Order of Coexistence in the Age of AI.”
South Korean National Assembly Speaker Cho Jeong-sik spoke on the ethical considerations of AI-induced job displacement and alienation of people.
Among other speakers are Dr. Chang Dae-whan, who is the founder of the WKF, and Danish Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt.
There will also be various sessions, such as “Personal AI, Change Your Daily Life” and “Quantum Computing and Cybersecurity.”
The platform has also enabled the coming together of distinguished entrepreneurs around the world, including from Asia.
Among them were Jose Ma. Concepcion III, Founder of Go Negosyo, and Don Lam, the CEO of VinaCapital, who won the ASEAN Entrepreneurs Award during the conference.
Xu, CEO of XREAL, talked about AI glasses and augmented reality, while Yang Hye-soon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics, was present in a session associated with it.
