Kishor Makwana to Receive Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Jan Seva Puraskar 2026
Chairman of NCSC, Kishor Makwana is set to receive the Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Jan Seva Puraskar 2026 in recognition of the social justice and public service of National Commission for Scheduled Castes on September 9, 2026 at the 16th Sansad Ratna Awards 2026 event. This comes at a time when the Commission has been working hard to uphold the rights and interests of Scheduled Castes communities and bring about equality and dignity to them.
Prime Point Foundation and the Sansad Ratna Awards Jury nominated National Commission for Scheduled Castes for the award.
As per the information provided by the Press Information Bureau, the jury appreciated the services of NCSC in the cause of social justice and the dedicated service to the nation.
The award is also recognition of the leadership and dedicated services rendered by Shri Kishor Makwana during his tenure as the leader of the Commission.
The role of the NCSC includes the protection of the legal and constitutional rights of Scheduled Castes. The responsibilities of the body are related to the protection of the rights of individuals who belong to these communities.
Under the leadership of Makwana, the NCSC has tried to emphasize its role as an institution that aims to protect the interests of Scheduled Castes and socially empower them.
Thus, the Jan Seva Puraskar includes the leadership qualities of Kishor Makwana along with the efforts of the entire institution.
The Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Jan Seva Puraskar 2026 will be awarded during the 16th edition of the Sansad Ratna Awards 2026 in Delhi on September 9.
The award is being organized by civil society organizations, including the Prime Point Foundation and Sansad Ratna Awards Committee.
