68th National Film Awards presented by President Droupadi Murmu

68th National Film Awards : The 68th National Film Awards were given out on the evening of 30th Septemberin New Delhi by President Droupadi Murmu. Legendary actress Asha Parekh got the Dadasaheb Phalke Award of 2020 for her outstanding lifetime contribution to Indian cinema. The 68th National Film awards were to be held in 2021, but were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

  • The Tamil film Soorarai Pottru received the best Feature Film award.
  • Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, a movie in Hindi, won an award for most popular movie offering satisfying entertainment at the 68th National Film Award.
  • Feature-length non-Dangi film The Best Non-Feature Film award got to Testimony of Ana. Funeral, a marathi film, won Best Film on Social Issues.
  • Ajay Devgan and Suriya received Best Actor awards for the movies Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior and Soorarai Pottru.
  • For Soorarai Pottru, Aparna Balamurali received the Best Actress Award at the 68th National Film Award.
  • The Malayalam movie AK Ayyappanum Koshiyum’s best director award got to Sachidanandan KR.
  • The Marathi movie Sumi got the prize for best kid’s movie at the 68th National Film Award. Manoj Muntashir received recognition for Saina’s best lyrics, which are in Hindi.

  • Taledanda, a Kannada film, won the prize for best environmental preservation and conservation film.
  • For the Bengali movie Avijatrik, Supratim Bhol won Best Cinematography in the 68th National Film Awards.
