India Delivers 73 Tonnes of Medicines & Vaccines to Support Afghanistan’s Healthcare
In a powerful show of humanitarian solidarity, India has delivered 73 tonnes of life-saving medicines, vaccines, and essential supplements to Kabul to support Afghanistan’s struggling healthcare system. The announcement, made by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), underlines India’s commitment to providing continued medical and humanitarian support to the Afghan people during a period of immense hardship.
India’s aid package includes,
India has historically been one of the largest regional contributors to Afghanistan’s development, with initiatives spanning infrastructure, education, energy, and healthcare. Since 2021, India has intensified its focus on humanitarian assistance, particularly after the socio-political transition in Afghanistan affected access to basic services.
Over the past two years, India has sent tons of wheat, vaccines, and medicines, as well as extended scholarships and training programmes for Afghan students and professionals.
