Union Minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping & Waterways, Sarbananda Sonowal, along with Chief Minister Assam, laid the foundation stone for the Central Research Institute of Yoga & Naturopathy (CRIYN) and a 100-bedded Naturopathy hospital at Dihing Khamtighat in Dibrugarh.
The institution, a pioneering force in Ayush, aims to blend traditional knowledge of Yoga and Naturopathy with modern technology. The investment of approximately ₹100 crores signifies a significant step towards promoting holistic healthcare in the region.
CRIYN is poised to set benchmark standards in education, preventive healthcare, and research in Yoga and Naturopathy. Scientific validation of traditional medicine practices will be the cornerstone, fostering evidence-based research and promoting international collaboration.
The institute will serve as an incubation center for startups in the wellness sector, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Moreover, it will offer clinical training facilities for capacity building in areas such as cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes management, and NCD risk reduction.
With a focus on Integrated Medicine, CRIYN aims to integrate evidence-based protocols of Yoga and Naturopathy into conventional patient care. This approach enhances the quality of patient care and contributes to NCD risk reduction.
Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the initiative reinforces the government’s commitment to empower Assam and the Northeast. It leverages the region’s rich flora and fauna to promote wellness tourism, thus boosting economic growth.
The Naturopathy hospital will offer inpatient, outpatient, and day care services, covering a wide range of treatments such as naturopathy diet and nutrition, yoga therapy, and physiotherapy. These services aim to effectively manage various health conditions and promote holistic wellness.
The inauguration of CRIYN marks a significant stride towards holistic healthcare delivery, blending ancient wisdom with modern science to promote well-being and vitality in Assam and beyond.
