Azerbaijan Army Participates in "Birlestik-2024" Joint Military Exercises in Kazakhstan
Azerbaijan Army servicemen have arrived in Kazakhstan to take part in the Birlestik-2024 operational-tactical command-staff exercise. This joint military drill, scheduled from July 11 to July 17, will be conducted at the Oymasha training ground and Cape Tokmak in the Caspian Sea. The exercise is part of a collaborative effort between the Defense Ministries of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
Azerbaijan’s contingent includes commando units from the Land Forces, Parachute descent and search-rescue service personnel, Su-25 aircraft from the Air Force, and patrol and descent ships from the Navy.
The Birlestik-2024 exercise aims to enhance regional cooperation and readiness by simulating joint operational scenarios. Approximately 4,000 military personnel and 700 pieces of military equipment will be involved, focusing on coordinating a unified response to localize armed conflicts in the region.
During the exercises, participating forces will undergo training and joint operational planning to effectively manage and resolve simulated armed conflicts. The drills underscore the commitment of participating nations to regional security and collaborative defense initiatives.
Participants: Military personnel from the five participating countries.
Location: Conducted at Oymasha training ground and Cape Tokmak in Kazakhstan’s Caspian Sea aquatorium.
