BCCI Announces ₹131 Crore Reward for Team India After T20 World Cup 2026 Victory

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the huge ₹131 crore cash reward for Team India. Team India secured the historic victory in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. India defeated the mighty New Zealand in the final at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 8 2026.Team India has successfully defended the T20 World Cup title. And also become the first team in tournament history to retain the championship.

BCCI Cash Reward for Team India T20 World Cup Win

The BCCI cash reward for Team India has been set at ₹131 crore.

And in this which will be distributed among the players, coaching staff, support staff and selectors.

The announcement was confirmed by BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia and he praised the team’s performance throughout the tournament.

This reward highlights the board’s recognition of the team’s consistent success and dedication in international cricket.

India Creates History in T20 World Cup 2026

India’s victory in the T20 World Cup 2026 is was historic because the team achieved lot of major milestones during the tournament.

The win against New Zealand taken to India secure its third T20 World Cup title and make the most successful team in the tournament’s history.

Another remarkable achievement was that India became the first team to successfully defend the T20 World Cup title.

Record-Breaking Performance in the T20 World Cup 2026 Final

The T20 World Cup 2026 final witnessed an good performance by the Indian team both with the bat and the ball.

India scored a massive 253 runs for five wickets and it became the the highest score ever recorded in a T20 World Cup final.

Sanju Samson played a important role scoring a rapid 89 runs after this this runs helped the team reach the record total.

In 2nd Innings Jasprit Bumrah delivered a brilliant bowling performance with four wickets for 14 runs.

This performance would ensuring India secured a commanding 96 run victory over New Zealand.

Tournament Awards and ICC Prize Money

Apart from the BCCI cash reward for Team India the team also received the official prize money from the International Cricket Council (ICC).

The ICC prize for the champions was USD 2.34 million (around ₹21.5 crore).

New Zealand who finished as runners-up in the T20 World Cup 2026 received USD 1.17 million (around ₹10.75 crore).

Individual performances were also recognized during the tournament.

Sanju Samson was named Player of the Series while Jasprit Bumrah received the Player of the Match award in the final.

BCCI Reward Higher Than 2024 Announcement

The BCCI cash reward for Team India in 2026 is ₹6 crore higher than the previous reward in 2024 when India won world cup in Barbados.

After India’s earlier T20 World Cup triumph the board had announced ₹125 crore for the victorious squad.

The ₹131 crore reward stands as one of the largest cash prizes given by the indian cricket board for a national team victory.
