In a thrilling and closely contested semifinal match, Bhavani Devi faced off against Uzbekistan’s Zaynab Dayibekova. Although she missed out on the gold medal opportunity, her remarkable performance ensured that India achieved its maiden medal at the Asian fencing championships.

Prior to the semifinals, Bhavani Devi achieved a stunning victory in the quarterfinals. She faced off against Misaki Emura, the reigning world champion from Japan. Displaying immense skill and determination, Bhavani defeated Misaki with a remarkable score of 15-10. This victory against such a high-caliber opponent cemented her place in fencing history.
