Brandon Holt Clinches the 2025 Bengaluru Open ATP 125 Challenger Title
The 2025 Bengaluru Open ATP 125 Challenger witnessed an intense competition among top tennis players, culminating in an electrifying final match. Brandon Holt of the United States emerged victorious, defeating Shintaro Mochizuki of Japan to claim the singles title at the KSLTA Tennis Stadium, Bengaluru on March 2, 2025. The tournament, part of the ATP Challenger Tour, carried a prize pool of $200,000 and was played on hard courts.
The Bengaluru Open 2025 took place from February 24 to March 2, 2025, at the KSLTA Tennis Stadium in Bengaluru. This ATP Challenger 125 event was the fourth and final ATP Challenger tournament held in India in 2025, following the Chennai Open, Delhi Open, and Maharashtra Open. Each of these tournaments featured top-tier competition and contributed to players’ ATP rankings.
Brandon Holt, who had previously lost in the 2025 Maharashtra Open final to Dalibor Svrcina of Czechia, showcased remarkable resilience and skill at the Bengaluru Open. In the final match, he faced Shintaro Mochizuki, the 2019 Wimbledon boys’ singles champion. With an impressive display of power and precision, Holt secured a 6-3, 6-3 victory, earning his first ATP Challenger 125 title of the year.
For his remarkable performance, Brandon Holt collected 125 ATP points and a winner’s prize of $28,400. On the other hand, the runner-up, Shintaro Mochizuki, gained 64 ATP points and a cash prize of $16,700.
In the doubles category, the Indian-Taiwanese duo of Anirudh Chandrasekar and Ray Ho (Chinese Taipei) clinched the Bengaluru Open doubles title by defeating the Australian pair of Blake Bayldon and Matthew Christopher Romios in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4.
The Australian duo of Blake Bayldon and Matthew Christopher Romios suffered their second consecutive defeat in an ATP Challenger final, having previously lost to the Indian pair of Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and Vijay Sundar Prashanth at the 2025 Maharashtra Open.
This victory marked the sixth ATP Challenger title for Anirudh Chandrasekar and his first with Ray Ho. The Indian contingent has had significant success at the Bengaluru Open in the past, with Saketh Myneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan winning the doubles title in 2024 and 2022. In 2020, Ramkumar Ramanathan also secured the title, partnering with Purav Raja.
