Casper Ruud wins Barcelona Open, Rybakina clinches Stuttgart Open

In a remarkable achievement, World No. 6 Casper Ruud of Norway defeated Stefanos Tsitsipas of Greece, clinching the ATP Barcelona Open 500 singles title. The final scoreline of 7-5, 6-3 marked a significant milestone for Ruud, as he secured the biggest trophy of his professional career.

This victory held special significance for the Norwegian, as it allowed him to avenge his recent defeat against Tsitsipas in the Monte Carlo Open final. Prior to Barcelona, Ruud had already claimed 10 titles at the ATP 250 level, but this was his first triumph at a prestigious 500-ranked tournament, where the winner earns a substantial 500 ranking points.

Argentine Duo Shines in Doubles

The doubles event at the Barcelona Open witnessed the Argentine pair of Maximo Gonzalez and Andres Molteni emerging victorious. They defeated the duo of Hugo Nys (Monaco) and Jan Zielinski (Poland) in the final, securing their second season title together.

On the women’s tour, Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan established her dominance by defeating Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine in straight sets, 6-2, 6-2, to claim the singles title at the WTA Stuttgart Open. This marked Rybakina’s third title of the year, following her triumphs at the Brisbane International and the Abu Dhabi Open.

Rybakina’s path to the Stuttgart title was made even more impressive by her semifinal victory over World No. 1 Iga Swiatek, showcasing her ability to compete at the highest level.

Doubles Delight in Stuttgart

In the doubles event at the Stuttgart Open, the pairing of Chan Hao-Ching (Taiwan) and Veronica Kudermetova (Russia) emerged victorious, defeating the duo of Ulrikke Eikeri (Norway) and Ingrid Neel (American-Estonia) to claim the title.
