CJI Chandrachud Inaugurates Ayush Wellness Center At Supreme Court Premises

The Chief Justice of India, Justice DY Chandrachud, inaugurated the ‘Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre’ within the premises of the Supreme Court of India. The event took place today in the presence of Companion Judges of the Supreme Court of India, along with guests including Minister of Ayush and Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal, and Minister of State for Ayush, Dr. Munjpara Mahendrabhai.

MoU Signing

  • An important aspect of the inauguration was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Supreme Court and the All-India Institute of Ayurveda.
  • This MoU pertains to establishing, operationalizing, and providing expert services at the Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre.

Justice Chandrachud’s Remarks

  • Justice Chandrachud conveyed his satisfaction during the ceremony, emphasizing the importance of holistic living for the Supreme Court’s 2000+ staff members, expressing gratitude to the doctors of All India Institute Ayurveda.
  • He underscored the significance of holistic wellness, mentioning his continuous efforts since assuming the role of CJI.

  • The event saw the presence of key figures including Secretary Ministry of Ayush, Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Director Secretary, and other senior officers of the Ministry of Ayush.
  • Prof. Tanuja Nesari, Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, also graced the occasion.

  • The Ayush Holistic Wellness Centre situated within the Supreme Court premises is a facility designed to provide comprehensive care addressing physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
  • Its primary objective is to promote the overall health of the Judges and staff of the Supreme Court of India.

Collaborative Initiative

  • This initiative is a collaborative effort between the Supreme Court of India and the All-India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) under the Ministry of Ayush.
  • AIIA, known for its expertise in Ayurveda, has extended its centers to various locations including LABSNA, Safdarjung, and IIT.
  • The establishment of the Ayush wellness center at the Supreme Court marks another milestone in providing holistic and integrated wellness services tailored for the Judiciary, Judges, and other staff members.
