Which is the Coldest Place in Bihar State?

Coldest Place in Bihar

Gaya is the coldest place in Bihar, experiencing very low temperatures in winter. The temperature can drop to 4ºC or even lower, making it the coldest district in the state. People face extreme cold, especially during December and January. Fog and chilly winds make like difficult, but occasional sunlight provides some relief during the day.

Gaya Recorded the Coldest Temperature

On a winter day, Gaya recorded a minimum temperature of 4.6ºC, which was 4ºC lower than normal. The maximum temperature during the day was 19.6ºC. This made Gaya the coldest place in Bihar on that day.

Why is Gaya So Cold?

Several factors cause cold waves in Gaya:

  • Dense Fog: Reduces sunlight, making the air colder.
  • Cold and dry north-westerly winds: Bring icy air from colder regions.
