A Glimpse into Kanpur

Kanpur, formerly known as Kanhaur, has a rich history. During the time of the Nawabs of Awadh, it was formed from the merging of several villages, including Purana Kanpur, Patkapur, Sisamau, Kurswan, and Juhi. Following the treaty of 1773, the British took control of Kanpur and established a military cantonment there.
