iDEX-DIO, EdCIL Sign MoU to Launch ASPIRE Program
- iDEX-DIO and EdCIL (India) Ltd signed an MoU under the ASPIRE program to develop dual-use technologies blending defence innovation with ed-tech solutions.
- This collaboration aims to extend iDEX’s defence-driven innovation model to civilian sectors, leveraging start-ups and indigenous capabilities.
- iDEX, launched in 2018, has engaged over 650 start-ups and secured procurement orders worth over Rs 1,652 crore, while EdCIL is a Mini Ratna CPSE excelling in education tech and consultancy with a strong growth record.
SAI and IIT Delhi Join Forces to Boost Sports Innovation
- SAI’s National Centre of Sports Science Research (NCSSR) and IIT Delhi signed an MoU to boost sports science, advanced technology, and indigenous innovation in India, supporting the government’s Atmanirbhar Bharat and Garv se Swadeshi missions.
- The partnership aims to develop home-grown sports equipment and cutting-edge tech to empower athletes, enhance performance, and prevent injuries.
- The MoU signing coincided with the inauguration of IIT Delhi’s new Biomechanics Laboratory, strengthening India’s sports science infrastructure and promoting inclusivity for both able-bodied and para athletes.

Union Minister Conferred Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan Awards To Winners
- Union Minister Shri Bhupender Yadav awarded top-performing cities under the Swachh Vayu Sarvekshan 2025 for outstanding efforts in air quality improvement and green infrastructure as part of the National Clean Air Programme (NCAP).
- Cities like Indore, Jabalpur, Agra, and Surat led the rankings, with a total of ₹1.55 lakh crore mobilized for clean air initiatives across 130 cities.
- The government also recognized Indore and Udaipur as Wetland Cities under the Ramsar Convention, highlighting India’s progress in environmental conservation and sustainable urban development.

Indian Armed Forces Join Exercise ZAPAD 2025 in Russia
- A 65-member Indian Armed Forces contingent has departed for Russia to participate in the multilateral exercise ZAPAD 2025, scheduled from September 10–16 at the Mulino Training Ground.
- Led by a battalion of the KUMAON Regiment, the team includes personnel from the Army (57), Air Force (7), and Navy (1).
- The exercise aims to boost military cooperation, interoperability, and joint capabilities in conventional warfare and counter-terrorism, with a focus on company-level operations, tactical drills, and the integration of emerging technologies in a multinational setting.
Indian Navy Launches 11th ACTCM Barge LSAM 25
- The 11th Ammunition Cum Torpedo Cum Missile (ACTCM) Barge, LSAM 25 (Yard 135), was launched on September 8, 2025, at M/s Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd, Thane, with Rear Admiral Vishal Bishnoi as the Chief Guest.
- The contract for all eleven barges was awarded to this MSME shipyard in March 2021.
- These barges are indigenously designed and built in collaboration with Indian partners and have undergone rigorous testing for seaworthiness.
- Ten barges have already been delivered and are actively used by the Indian Navy, symbolizing the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.

- World Suicide Prevention Day (WSPD), observed annually on 10 September, aims to raise awareness and reduce stigma around suicide, which causes 720,000+ deaths globally each year.
- Under the theme “Changing the Narrative on Suicide” (2024–2026), the focus is on empathy, openness, and mental health support.
- India, with a suicide rate of 12.4 per lakh, has launched key initiatives like Tele-MANAS, DMHP, and Manodarpan to tackle this crisis, especially among youth, and aims to reduce suicide deaths by 10% by 2030 through its National Suicide Prevention Strategy (NSPS).
