Vikram‑3201: India’s First Made‑in‑Bharat 32‑Bit Microprocessor, All You Need To Know
- India launched its first indigenously developed semiconductor chip, the Vikram-3201, marking a significant milestone in its tech self-reliance journey.
- Presented to PM Narendra Modi by Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at Semicon India 2025, the 32-bit microprocessor was developed by ISRO’s Semiconductor Laboratory (SCL) in Chandigarh and designed by the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC).
- An upgrade over the 16-bit Vikram-1601 (used since 2009), the Vikram-3201 is built for extreme space environments and will power ISRO’s future space missions.
- It’s programmed in Ada, a language standard in aerospace, and is supported by indigenous software tools (compiler, assembler, linker, simulator).
PM Modi Launched Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh Limited
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually launched the Bihar Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh Limited, a financial institution aimed at offering low-interest loans to rural women entrepreneurs under Jeevika.
- With ₹105 crore transferred to the institution’s bank account, the initiative will enable cluster-level federations of Jeevika to access funds more easily, promoting women-led business growth.
Kapas Kisan App Launched to Empower Cotton Farmers
- Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh launched the Kapas Kisan App to streamline cotton procurement under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme. The app enables farmers to self-register, book slots, and track payments, ensuring transparency and efficiency.
- With a user-friendly interface and multi-language support, the app aims to prevent distress sales, reduce paperwork, and save time at procurement centres—marking a significant step towards empowering cotton farmers.
Coconut Development Board Announces Boosts Aid for Coconut Farmers
- On World Coconut Day, the Coconut Development Board in Kerala announced a major boost in financial aid for coconut farmers, including a hike in sapling support from ₹4 to ₹45, replanting aid from ₹40 to ₹350, and a sixfold increase in aid under the Coconut Technology Mission.
- The Board will also produce 2.5 lakh coconut saplings this year with 50% subsidy.
- Celebrated annually on September 2, World Coconut Day was established by the International Coconut Community (ICC) to promote the coconut industry and its global significance.
BHARATI Initiative to Empower 100 Agri‑Food Startups
- BHARATI, launched by APEDA, aims to support 100 agri-food startups and boost India’s agri-food exports to $50 billion by 2030.
- The initiative, unveiled in New Delhi in the presence of Ministers Piyush Goyal, Chirag Paswan, and UAE’s Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, focuses on innovation, resilience, and export enablement.
- BHARATI stands for Bharat’s Hub for Agritech, Resilience, Advancement and Incubation for Export Enablement, aligning with the Atmanirbhar Bharat and Startup India missions to strengthen India’s global agri-food trade presence.

Gangtok Ranked 5th Safest City for Women in India
- Gangtok has been ranked the 5th safest city for women in India according to the NARI 2025 report by the National Commission for Women (NCW), scoring 70.4%—above the national safety benchmark of 65%.
- The report, based on a survey of 12,770 women across 31 cities, assessed factors like infrastructure, workplace security, trust in authorities, and night-time safety.
- The Northeast showed strong performance, with Kohima ranked 1st, Aizawl 4th, and Gangtok 5th, while Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar took 2nd and 3rd places respectively.

- India announces 1,000 e-scholarships for Afghan students for the academic year 2025-26 under the Special Scholarship Scheme for Afghan Nationals (SSSAN).
- Offered through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), these scholarships enable Afghan youths (aged 18-35) to pursue online undergraduate and postgraduate courses via the government’s e-VidyaBharati (e-VB) i-learn portal.
- The program includes courses from nine Indian universities such as Jamia Millia Islamia, IGNOU, Anna University, and Kurukshetra University.

- Dr. Deepak Mittal, a 1998-batch IFS officer, has been appointed as India’s next Ambassador to the UAE, succeeding Sunjay Sudhir.
- Mittal, who has held key roles in the Prime Minister’s Office and served as Ambassador to Qatar, also played a significant role in establishing India’s diplomatic contact with the Taliban.
- The UAE, a key strategic partner and energy supplier, hosts over 3.5 million Indian nationals.
- His appointment comes as India-UAE ties continue to strengthen, following PM Modi’s multiple visits, including the 2024 inauguration of the BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi.

- Formerly Secretary in the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, he has also served in key roles such as Secretary of the Rajya Sabha, CEO of Sansad TV, and Special Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

- The 14th edition of India-Thailand Joint Military Exercise MAITREE-XIV commenced on September 1, 2025, at the Joint Training Node (JTN), Umroi, Meghalaya.
- Conducted until September 14, the bilateral exercise aims to boost cooperation, interoperability, and mutual understanding between the Indian Army and the Royal Thai Army.
- The Indian side is represented by a Battalion of the Madras Regiment (120 personnel), while Thailand is represented by the 1st Infantry Battalion, 14th Infantry Brigade (53 personnel).
