Delhi Government Approves Lakshmi Yojana: Eligible Women to Receive ₹2,500 Monthly Financial Assistance
The Delhi Government has approved the Delhi Lakshmi Yojana, a flagship welfare scheme aimed at promoting the economic empowerment and social security of women. The decision was taken during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta at the Delhi Secretariat.
Under the scheme, eligible women will receive ₹2,500 per month as financial assistance. The government has allocated ₹5,110 crore for the implementation of the scheme in the Delhi Budget 2026–27.
The Delhi Lakshmi Yojana is a financial assistance scheme launched by the Delhi Government to improve the socio-economic status of women. Apart from providing direct monetary support, the scheme also focuses on enhancing women’s access to education, healthcare, skill development, savings, and social participation.
The initiative is expected to benefit over 17 lakh women across the national capital.
Eligible women will receive ₹2,500 every month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to provide financial stability and improve their quality of life.
The Delhi Government has earmarked ₹5,110 crore for the implementation of the scheme in the 2026–27 financial year.
The online registration portal for the scheme will be launched on 1 August 2026, enabling eligible women to apply for benefits.

According to the Chief Minister, the initiative is expected to benefit more than 17 lakh women, helping them become self-reliant and economically empowered.
