Delhi Unveils 'Mayur' Mascot for 2026 Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship
Delhi has unveiled the ‘Mayur’, it is a mascot for the 22nd Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship 2026. This marks another milestone ahead of table tennis events. It is scheduled to be held from 27th July to 2nd August, 2026 at the Thyagraj Stadium in New Delhi, in this championship, it is expected to welcome players form over 35 different countries. The mascot is inspired by India’s national bird, it also reflects the values of unity, diversity, and sporting excellence.
Honorable Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has unveiled the ‘Mayur’ at a special ceremony held in the national capital.
This mascot is inspired by the Indian peacock, it is the country’s national bird, and has been designed to represent the spirit of the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship.
Colourful feathers of the mascot incorporate elements of the flags of participating Commonwealth nations and it symbolising the.
The design also aims to celebrate both the India’s heritage and the global nature of the tournament.
