On India’s National Space Day, marking the 1st anniversary of Chandrayaan-3’s landing on the lunar South Pole, the Department of School Education & Literacy, in collaboration with NCERT, launched the e-magazine ‘Sapno ki Udaan.’ Union Minister of Education, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, released the inaugural edition virtually, with Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Minister of State for Education, also attending.
The e-magazine, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aims to make education more accessible and equitable, preparing students for global challenges. The current theme, ‘Space,’ reflects the vast imagination of children.
Shri Dharmendra Pradhan emphasized the importance of the e-magazine in fostering scientific temper among students. Shri Jayant Chaudhary highlighted the celebration of India’s scientific achievements and the magazine’s role in nurturing curiosity.
According to Shri Sanjay Kumar, Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, the e-magazine is a quarterly publication featuring a mix of poetry, essays, stories, and riddles contributed by students, teachers, and parents. Plans are in place to make it a monthly publication.
The inaugural theme focuses on Space, with content related to ISRO’s Chandrayaan Missions. The e-magazine is available online on the NCERT portal.
The e-magazine is an effort of the National Council of Educational Research and Training(NCERT) and the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India.
The Magazine is published quarterly, but according to Sanjay Kumar, the Secretary of the Department of School Education and Literacy, it will soon become a monthly magazine.
