DPIIT Signs MoU to Boost EV Manufacturing and Clean Mobility Ecosystem

In a landmark move towards strengthening India’s clean mobility and EV manufacturing ecosystem, the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ather Energy Limited, one of India’s leading electric vehicle manufacturers. The partnership was launched under the Startup Policy Forum’s (SPF) ‘Build in Bharat’ initiative, which focuses on fostering innovation-driven startups in the country.

Focus of the Collaboration

The MoU aims to create a robust support framework for startups in the electric vehicle (EV) and clean energy value chain. The key areas of collaboration include,

  • Strategic Mentorship for Deep-Tech Startups: Providing expert guidance to technology-driven startups working in the EV and clean mobility sector.
  • Infrastructure Support: Establishing facilities and resources for manufacturing-oriented startups in the EV ecosystem.
  • Joint Innovation Programs: Launching initiatives such as the Bharat Startup Grand Challenge to encourage innovative solutions.
  • Talent and Skill Development: Co-hosting training and upskilling programs for young entrepreneurs and professionals.
  • Exposure through Events: Facilitating participation in large-scale innovation platforms like Startup Mahakumbh, along with on-ground visits for real-world experience.
