In a significant move, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has fulfilled his first poll promise by announcing that all government hospitals in the state will provide free dialysis to chronic kidney patients. This decision was made during his inaugural cabinet meeting after the BJP’s return to power for a third consecutive term, where Saini emphasized the people’s mandate against Congress’ narrative during the elections.
Saini highlighted that the decision to offer free dialysis services is aimed at alleviating the financial burden on patients, who typically incur monthly costs between ₹20,000 to ₹25,000. “The first file I signed was regarding this decision. The Haryana government will now bear these expenses,” he stated.
At the press conference, Saini reaffirmed the government’s commitment to empowering marginalized communities, including the poor, youth, farmers, and women. He reiterated that Haryana would play a pivotal role in achieving a ‘Viksit Bharat.’ He also warned criminals in the state, urging them to change their ways.
Paddy Procurement: Over ₹3,056 crore has been credited to farmers’ accounts, with more than 23 lakh metric tonnes of paddy procured at the minimum support price (MSP).
Job Creation: The government has created approximately 25,000 jobs, which has been described as a Diwali gift for the youth of Haryana.
Reservation Policy: Saini announced the state’s intent to implement the Supreme Court’s decision regarding sub-classifications within the Scheduled Castes for reservation purposes.
