India Crowned Men’s U18 Asia Cup Champions After Stunning Win Over Japan

India crowned champions of the Men’s U18 Asia Cup 2026 after producing the dominant performance against the host nation Japan in the Gold medal Match. The young Indian side has defeated the Japan 4-1 in Kakamigahara to secure the continental title and sign off with the impressive tournament campaign. Throughout the tournament India had displayed consistency, attacking flair and resilience and emerged the best team at U18 level.

India delivered the clinical performance in the final match to defeat the Japan and lift the coveted trophy.

While facing the host nation in front of the home crowd, Indian team has showcased the composure and attacking quality from the opening stages.

The players maintained the control throughout the match and they able to score four goals to secure a convincing 4-1 victory.

The final brought together the Asia’s two strongest youth hockey teams and India and Japan competing for the continental supremacy.

While Japan entered the match with the advantage of the home support, India quickly established the control through disciplined defending and effective attacking play.

The Indian forwards capitalized on to the scoring opportunities and while the defense successfully limited to the Japan’s attacking threats.
