India Dominates U23 Asian Wrestling Championship in Jordan
India’s U23 wrestling team excelled in Amman, Jordan, clinching a total of 19 medals across women’s wrestling, Greco-Roman, and freestyle categories. The women wrestlers led with three gold medals, showcasing dominance in their divisions. Meenakshi, Pushpa Yadav, and Priya Malik stood out with impressive performances, securing victories by various methods including Victory by Superiority and Victory by Fall.
Meenakshi in the 50 kg category, Pushpa Yadav in 59 kg, and Priya Malik in the heaviest weight class delivered exceptional performances, each winning gold medals in their respective divisions.
In the traditionally challenging Greco-Roman category, Indian wrestlers achieved six medals, including four silver and two bronze, highlighting significant improvement and skill in this style of wrestling.
The U23 Asian Wrestling Championships concluded with India topping the freestyle wrestling category, earning four gold, two silver, and two bronze medals.
