India Launches Non-Ferrous Metal Recycling Portal to Boost Circular Economy

In a significant stride toward building a sustainable circular economy, Union Minister of Coal and Mines, Shri G. Kishan Reddy, launched the Non-Ferrous Metal Recycling Website and Stakeholders’ Portal on 7 May 2025. Developed under the National Non-Ferrous Metal Scrap Recycling Framework, the portal is aimed at creating a transparent, structured, and integrated recycling ecosystem across India for key non-ferrous metals like aluminium, copper, lead, zinc, and critical minerals.

The Non-Ferrous Metal Recycling Portal was launched to streamline the recycling sector, provide real-time data, and enhance policy support through evidence-based decision-making. It reflects India’s strategic push towards resource efficiency, circular economy, and reduced dependency on imported raw materials.
