India Post Payments Bank Unveils Zero-Balance Accounts for SHGs
The India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) has launched the Self Help Group (SHG) Savings Account which is aims to empowering the women-led groups in rural areas. It is announced by the Ministry of Communications and this initiative offers the zero-cost, easy-to-access banking solution with no minimum balance requirements. This move is expected to strengthen the financial inclusion, promote savings habits and will integrate the SHGs into the formal banking system.
The India Post Payments Bank have introduced the specially designed to savings account tailored for Self Help Groups (SHGs).
These groups are largely driven by the women and will paly the important role in the grassroots economic development.
This initiative also aligns with the India’s broader mission of financial inclusion and ensuring that the even the most remote communities have access to secure and affordable banking services.
This newly launched SHG account is designed to remove the traditional banking barriers and will encourage participation.
