India Post officially rolled out its IT 2.0 – Advanced Postal Technology (APT) across the country, marking a major step in its digital transformation journey. Developed under the Digital India initiative, this system brings cutting-edge technologies to the postal sector, streamlining operations and enhancing customer experiences nationwide.

IT 2.0 represents a complete overhaul of India Post’s digital ecosystem, with the following major advancements,

  • Unified Digital Interface: Offers a single, integrated platform for all postal transactions and services.
  • QR-Code-Based Payments: Enables instant and secure cashless payments through QR scanning.
  • OTP-Based Delivery Verification: Ensures secure doorstep delivery of sensitive items by verifying recipient identity through a one-time password.
  • DIGIPIN: Introduces a 10-digit alphanumeric digital postal identification number, enhancing accuracy and traceability in deliveries.

Developed by the Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology (CEPT), the platform is a completely indigenous effort in line with the Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) mission.
