India Ranks 80th in World's Strongest Passport Index
The Henley Passport Index 2026 once again highlights the sharp divide in global travel freedom, ranking passports based on how many destinations their holders can visit without needing a visa in advance. India’s global travel access has seen a modest improvement in 2026. According to the latest passport rankings, Indian travellers can now visit more countries without lengthy visa procedures than last year. However, significant limitations remain for popular destinations like Europe and North America, shaping how Indians plan international trips.
The Henley Passport Index 2026 has ranked India at 80th position globally. Indian passport holders get visa free, visa-on-arrival or e-visa access to 55 destinations, up from last year’s rank of 85.
