India vs New Zealand Final: India Posts 255/5 in T20 World Cup 2026 Final
The final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 witnessed a spectacular batting performance from India national cricket team, who posted a massive 255/5 in 20 overs against the New Zealand national cricket team at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
After New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl, Indian batters dominated the innings with aggressive stroke play, setting one of the highest totals ever in a T20 World Cup final.
India got off to a flying start thanks to Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson, who built a powerful opening partnership.
The duo powered India to 92 runs in the powerplay, putting immense pressure on the New Zealand bowlers.
Following the strong start, Ishan Kishan continued the aggressive approach, scoring 54 runs from 25 balls, including 4 fours and 4 sixes.
However, New Zealand briefly fought back when James Neesham picked up crucial wickets, dismissing Samson, Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav.
India finished the innings strongly with a late cameo from Shivam Dube, who smashed 26 runs off just 8 balls at an incredible strike rate of 325.
Alongside Tilak Varma, Dube helped India cross the 250-run mark, setting a daunting target of 256 runs for New Zealand.
