India’s 1968 Olympic Bronze Medalist Gurbax Singh Grewal Passed Away
The hockey veteran Mr. Gurbax Singh Grewal was passed away at the age of 84 following a heart attack. He was the member of the India’s 1968 Olympic bronze medal-winning team and he was known not only for his contributions on the field but also for the continued involvement in to the nurturing hockey talent after his retirement. With his passing it marks the end of an era in the Indian hockey history.
Gurbax Singh Grewal was part of the Indian team which have secured the bronze medal at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics.
His achievement at the Olympics remains one of the proud moments in India’s sports history.
One of the most unique and interesting aspects of the Grewal’s career was that he had represented the India alongside his brother who is the Balbir Singh Grewal at the same Olympics.
Apart from hi playing days Mr. Grewal have continued to serve as the Indian hockey in multiple roles.
