India's Direct Tax Collection Sees Significant Growth in FY25
India’s net direct tax collection has experienced a significant year-on-year growth, reaching approximately ₹16.90 lakh crore by January 12, 2025. Securities Transaction Tax (STT): STT collections stand at ₹44,538 crore, underscoring active trading in the financial markets.
Refunds Issued: The government has issued refunds totaling approximately ₹3.74 lakh crore, a 42.49% increase over the previous year, enhancing taxpayer satisfaction.
