INS Tabar Conducts Maritime Partnership Exercise with Spanish Navy Ship Atalaya
INS Tabar, a frontline frigate of the Indian Navy, visited Malaga, Spain, on 25 August 2024, for a two-day engagement. Upon departure on 27 August, it participated in a Maritime Partnership Exercise (MPX) with the Spanish Navy Ship Atalaya in the Mediterranean Sea. This exercise is a significant milestone in the growing maritime cooperation between India and Spain, reflecting the strengthening of bilateral relations in the maritime domain.
The MPX included advanced exercises such as Station Keeping, Replenishment at Sea Approaches (RASAPs), Flying Exercise (FYEX), Steam Past, and PHOTOEX serials. Both navies demonstrated a high level of professionalism, underscoring their commitment to enhancing collaborative efforts.
The Indian Navy emphasized its dedication to fostering partnerships with navies worldwide, with the MPX reinforcing bilateral naval ties and commitment to enhanced maritime cooperation.
In response to heavy rains and flood-like conditions in Gujarat, Indian Naval flood relief teams were deployed to Porbandar and Jamnagar. Equipped with specialist gear, these teams successfully evacuated residents, including 50 elderly individuals, to secure locations. The Indian Navy remains ready to deploy additional teams and equipment for ongoing and future relief efforts.
