  1. Total number of terrorist incidents
  2. Total number of deaths (fatalities)
  3. Total number of injuries
  4. Total number of hostages

These factors help measure both the scale and severity of terrorism.

The study highlights that sub-Saharan Africa remains the most affected region by terrorism in 2025.
