Kerala hospital deploys “KARMI-Bot” robot to serve COVID-19 patients

The government hospital in Ernakulamhere, Kerala has deployed a robot named ‘KARMI-Bot’ to serve COVID-19 patients. The robot will be used to assist patients at the medical college’s COVID-19 isolation ward.

The robot is developed by ASIMOV robotics, a corporation working under maker village of Kerala start-up mission. The aims of this project are to limit the interaction between COVID-19 patients and doctors also on address the shortage of PPE kits by minimizing its use. Carrying a payload of up to 25 kgs, the robot is of achieving a maximum speed of 1m per sec.
