Kimi Antonelli Wins Monaco Grand Prix 2026, Extends Formula 1 Championship Lead
Italian sensation Kimi Antonelli continued his dominant performance in Formula 1 by winning the Monaco Grand Prix 2026, which is one of the most prestigious races all around the world. This Mercedes driver delivered the composed and dominant performance on the streets of Monte Carlo and overcome the late-race drama to secure his fifth consecutive victory of the season and this win has strengthened his lead in the Drivers Championship.
Starting from the pole position, Antonelli has controlled the race from the start of the race and he steadily built a comfortable advantage over the rest of the field.
The Mercedes driver displayed the exceptional pace, consistency and composure around the narrow Monaco street circuit. Even when a late red flag erased his sizeable lead and forced the standing restart, Antonelli has remained calm and executed with flawless getaway to maintain control of the race.
His victory marked the fifth straight win and it further cemented his status as the championship favorite of this season.
Lewis Hamilton has also continued his strong form by securing the another podium finish for Ferrari.
The seven-time world champion made an excellent start and he quickly moved into second place after the Max Verstappen encountered engine problems early in the race.
Hamilton maintained the consistent pace throughout the afternoon and he remained Antonelli’s closest challenger.
Although he could not match the Mercedes driver’s speed and the second-place finish will help to Hamilton move ahead of the George Russell in the championship standings.
