Kusunpur to Become Odisha’s First Smart Village

Kusunpur village in Kendrapada district of the Odisha is set to become the first smart village of the Odisha. This initiative has been launched by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) under the Ministry of Science and Technology. This project aims to transform the village and in which has around 130 families and a population of 700. It will be turn into a model of sustainable and self reliant rural living.

The Kusunpur smart village Odisha project is designed to the bring advanced technology and scientific solutions directly to rural communities.

This initiative will follows a mission mode approach where multiple research institutions collaborate to implement practical and scalable solutions.

The primary goal is to create a self sufficient, climate resilient and sustainable village model.

This initiative is expected to serve as the blueprint for developing smart villages across India.

The CSIR smart village project involves collaboration among several specialized research institutions under CSIR.

Smart Infrastructure Development in Kusunpur Village

A main component of the CSIR smart village project is the development of modern and climate resilient infrastructure.

This project will focused on improving public facilities and ensuring sustainable construction practices.

• The Climate resilient schools and anganwadi buildings
• Construction of the community toilets
• Improved village planning and layout
