List of Award Presented on 75th Republic Day of India

In a solemn ceremony marking the 75th Republic Day of India, the nation pays tribute to the valor and commitment of its brave personnel across various services. The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced the commendable achievements of 1,132 individuals from the Police, Fire Service, Home Guard, Civil Defence, and Correctional Service, who have been awarded Gallantry and Service Medals for their exemplary contributions.

The Ministry of Home Affairs announced on January 25, 2024, that a total of 1132 individuals from various services including Police, Fire Service, Home Guard, Civil Defence, and Correctional Service have been honored with Gallantry and Service Medals on the occasion of Republic Day.

Rationalization of Awards

The government has streamlined and transformed the award ecosystem, merging sixteen gallantry and service medals into four distinct categories: PMG (President’s Medal for Gallantry), GM (Medal for Gallantry), PSM (President’s Medal for Distinguished Service), and MSM (Medal for Meritorious Service). Pradhan Mantri Rahstriya Bal Puraskar 2024

The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) 2024 recognizes children aged 5-18 for exceptional achievements in seven categories. With 19 awardees chosen nationwide, the ceremony, to be held at Vigyan Bhawan on January 22, 2024, will see the President honoring young talents. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with the awardees on January 23, followed by their participation in the Republic Day parade on January 26, 2024.

Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards

The Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Awards for the year 2023, approved by the President of India, honors 31 individuals for their commendable acts of bravery in saving lives. The awards are classified into three categories: Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak, and Jeevan Raksha Padak. Among the recipients, 3 individuals receive the Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, 7 are honored with the Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak, and 21 individuals are awarded the Jeevan Raksha Padak. Notably, three awardees are recognized posthumously. These awards acknowledge individuals from diverse backgrounds for their meritorious acts of human nature in rescuing and safeguarding lives.
